Backyard News, 02.02.12

* The Village of Linglestown Committee held its first meeting of the year last month. CLICK HERE to learn what is on the committee's agenda for 2012. Meeting notes was submitted by community watchdog group SWAN.

* Bill Payne was re-elected as chief of the Linglestown Fire Company at its January business meeting. The village's volunteer firefighters put in many hours and provide a tremendous service to the area. CLICK HERE to read about their recent activities.

* Linglestown resident Bill Seeds will host a petition signing party for his PA Senate campaign at St. Thomas Restaurant on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 1–4 pm. Area residents who are registered Republican can stop by and sign his petition. Seeds needs 500 signatures to get on the primary election ballot.

* The 4th annual Chocolate Walk is coming to Linglestown on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 10–11. This is a great event to sample the shops and eateries in the the village. Start your day off with a free Valentine's pancake breakfast at Linglestown Church of God located across from the fire house, and then follow the red and pink ballons to locate participating merchants.
